6) The ISO Family
The London meeting we took part of
was to kick off a new ISO standard:
「Sustainability in event management」
“ISO” is generally known in our country
by the Japan Industrial Standards (JIS) mark.
This applies to standards for small bolts to
all sorts of industrial products.
“IEC” and “ITU” are the names given
for electrical-related standards among them.
ISO is the international standard for fields other than
the electro-technical and telecommunications.
The rest is divided into
IEC: for the electro-technicals.
ITU: for telecommunications and broadcastings.
The ISO we are in on
involves a slightly different perspective.
It is not to standardize a unified size for industrial products,
but falls under the category of a “management system standard.”
“Management”
A relatively new, comprehensive type of “ISO.”
Many of you are probably familiar with
“ISO 9000”
=“Quality Management System Standard”?
The definition of this system is specified as:
“A management system to direct and manage an organization with regards to
quality.”
Yes, it still may sound difficult.
