4) ISO/PC250
“ISO/PC250” is the identification number
of the ISO we are currently involved with.
The development of a brand new ISO,
titled:
“Sustainability in event management”
In the summer of 2009,
UK and Brazil world-widely announced
the joint proposal of this project.
In response, countries from around the world
expressed their willingness to participate:
【Europe】
●Austria●Belgium●Bulgaria●Denmark
●France●Germany●Italy●Spain●Sweden
●Netherlands●United Kingdom
【Americas】
●Argentina●Brazil●Canada●Colombia●Peru
【Asia Pacific】
●Japan●Malaysia●New Zealand
20 countries in total.
Hence, the 1stinternational conference was held,
during the 4 days of Jan 18-21, 2010
at the Brewery in London, UK.
Present were 24 delegates from 10 countries.
A venue with a good-old British appearance.
“Good morning JAPAN”
Greets a gentleman wearing a chesterfield coat
and sporting a silk hat at the entrance.
Ambient lighting calmly illuminates the meeting room.
A scene which is unthinkable in a Japanese setting.
With coffee/tea break snacks
readily provided at the back of the room.
Far from the world of serious and strained
“meeting rooms” in Japan,
an international conference venue-ness of high caliber drifts in the air.
Delegates gathered from across the globe spoke out,
making whatever sense they could make out of their
“English as a second language.”
An atmosphere very unique to international conventions.
And the discussions carried out there?
How were they?
to be continued
