2) From all over America

The “Great Baltimore Fire.”
Despite the help of “fire engines” from all over America,
the fire continued to burn for 36 hours;
2 trillion yen (in the current amount) worth of damage was done.

It was the various fire fighting resources that led to this tragedy.

The crews brought their own “fire hoses,” which did not fit Baltimore’s “hydrants.”
Hence, firefighters could not do their work.

With this as lessons learned, people came to develop “hydrants”
so they can use it with any kind of hose.

=“Aligning gauge of hydrants and fire hoses to enable access from all.”
This is “standardization.”

And how are things after that?
Lessons were learned.
At the Fall River Fire in 1927, fatal damage was prevented.

So “standardization” is everywhere,
in what we use and see,
in everyday life.

Then what is the difference between “standardization” and “standard”?

To be continued…

Everything happens for a reason.)
